MLB SlugFest 2004 is an arcade-style baseball game developed by Midway, released in 2003 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, and Game Boy Advance. The second entry in the SlugFest series, it builds on its predecessor's chaotic, physics-defying approach to the sport, featuring pitchers who can enter an "On Fire" state and deliver special pitches that curve and zigzag in physically impossible ways. New modes include a Home Run Derby and a Create-A-Team option, while a customizable instant replay system lets players revisit key moments. The roster of secret unlockable teams expands to include aliens, minotaurs, and Mortal Kombat's Sub-Zero alongside those carried over from the original. Commentary duties again fall to Tim Kitzrow and Jim Shorts, whose improvisational banter and on-air arguments are a recurring feature of the series' irreverent tone.
