Released in 2009 alongside the DreamWorks animated film of the same name, Monsters vs. Aliens is an action-adventure game developed by Beenox for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Players control three characters from the film — Ginormica, B.O.B., and The Missing Link — working through sequences adapted from the movie's story. A drop-in/drop-out cooperative multiplayer mode supports shared play throughout. Several cast members from the film reprise their roles, including Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, and Rainn Wilson, while James Horan and Fred Tatasciore replace Hugh Laurie and Kiefer Sutherland respectively in their corresponding roles. The title marks the final DreamWorks Animation game developed by Beenox, and across its full range of platforms — which also included PlayStation 2, Wii, and Nintendo DS — it stands as the last DreamWorks Animation release on the PlayStation 2.
