Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is a 2011 compilation of three classic 2D fighting games developed by Other Ocean Interactive and published by Warner Bros. Games, released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The package brings together the original Mortal Kombat (1992), Mortal Kombat II (1993), and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (1995), preserving the arcade-style one-on-one combat that defined the series during the early 1990s. Each title retains its original gameplay mechanics, roster of fighters, and finishing moves. The collection came about following the cancellation of a more ambitious project, Mortal Kombat HD Arcade Kollection, which had aimed to deliver high-definition remakes of the same games. Rather than updated visuals, the released product presents the three entries largely as they appeared in their original arcade incarnations, offering a straightforward preservation of a formative period in competitive fighting games.
