Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer is a role-playing expansion developed by Obsidian Entertainment and released in 2007 for Windows. Picking up after the conclusion of the original Neverwinter Nights 2 campaign, the story begins with the player character waking alone underground, afflicted by a mysterious hunger that threatens to consume their soul. The expansion is set in Rashemen, a spirit-rich land bordering the powerful nation of Thay, and offers a campaign estimated at 20 to 30 or more hours. Players may import an existing Neverwinter Nights 2 character or create a new one, with no prior experience required. The expansion introduces a substantial range of new content, including epic character levels, additional feats, spells, races, and classes, expanded crafting options, new weapons and armor, and a broad array of new enemies.
