New Rally-X is a maze-driving arcade game developed and published by Namco in 1981, available on arcade hardware and later on Wii, Xbox 360, and legacy mobile devices. A revised follow-up to the original Rally-X from the previous year, it runs on comparable hardware but introduces several refinements: slightly improved graphics, a new soundtrack, and more forgiving gameplay. The core objective involves navigating a scrolling maze to collect flags while managing fuel reserves. A notable addition is the "Lucky Flag," marked with the letter "L," which awards bonus points based on remaining fuel upon collection, though the round continues if other flags are still present. The mazes closely resemble those of its predecessor, with certain dead ends opened into roads and some flags and rocks repositioned. New Rally-X was manufactured in larger quantities than the original and achieved considerably greater popularity in Japan.
