Rally-X is a maze-based driving arcade game developed by Namco Limited and released in 1980, with North American manufacturing and distribution handled by Midway Games the following year. Players navigate a car through a series of scrolling maze stages, collecting flags while evading enemy vehicles that give chase. A fuel mechanic adds pressure to each run, as the car consumes fuel continuously and must gather flags efficiently before reserves run dry. The player can emit a smokescreen to temporarily hinder pursuers, adding a tactical element to the otherwise frenetic evasion gameplay. Beyond the arcade original, the game was ported to several home platforms, including the Commodore VIC-20, SG-1000, Sharp X68000, Sharp X1, and MSX, with the SG-1000 version released in Taiwan. Rally-X is considered one of Namco's early defining arcade titles.
