Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy is a first-person point-and-click adventure developed by Kheops Studio and released in 2007 for PC and Mac. Set in historical France around Salon-de-Provence, the game follows Madeleine de Nostradame, daughter of the renowned astrologer and apothecary, as she investigates a series of crimes targeting the royal family. An unknown assassin is staging murders to resemble fulfilled prophecies, using astrology as cover. Because the investigation takes place in a society hostile to women operating independently, Madeleine disguises herself as her younger brother Caesar — a deception made possible by her father's expertise in cosmetics. Players toggle between these two identities to access different situations and gather information. The narrative threads together themes of spirituality, skepticism, and the supernatural, drawing on Nostradamus's famous quatrains as a backdrop for a historical fiction mystery that blurs the line between rational inquiry and superstition.
