Paperboy is a 1984 arcade game developed by Atari Games, notable for its distinctive theme and unconventional controls. Players take control of a bicycle-riding paperboy navigating a suburban street rendered in an oblique projection perspective. The core objective involves completing a week's worth of daily deliveries, accurately tossing newspapers onto the doorsteps of subscribing households while deliberately targeting non-subscribers' properties with damaging throws. Missed deliveries or accidental damage to a subscriber's home results in losing that customer from the route. The street presents a variety of hazards that must be avoided to keep the run going. Originally an arcade release, the game was subsequently ported to a wide range of platforms, including the Commodore 64, Amiga, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Apple II, Apple IIGS, DOS, and later the Xbox 360, among others.
