Patapon 2 is a rhythm-based real-time strategy game developed by Pyramid, released in 2008 for the PlayStation Portable and later the PlayStation Vita. Players assume the role of a deity guiding the Patapon tribe by beating mystical drums in rhythmic patterns, directing the tribe as they search for the legendary Earthend. Following a shipwreck on an unfamiliar continent, the Patapons must navigate dangerous new terrain, where they encounter a rival tribe, discover the ruins of the mythical Patapolis, and cross paths with a powerful Hero Patapon. The game features around 60 rhythmic stages filled with hidden items and mini-games. Building on its predecessor, Patapon 2 introduces multiplayer missions that support cooperative play, alongside an expanded set of tutorials designed to help players master the drum-based command system. Deep progression and a varied mission structure complement the core rhythm mechanics throughout.
