Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part I is an expansion pack for Pillars of Eternity, developed by Obsidian Entertainment and released in 2015 for Windows, Linux, and Mac. The expansion integrates new content directly into the main campaign, introducing snow-covered environments reminiscent of Icewind Dale, a new quest hub, additional dungeons, and numerous side quests. Two new companions join the roster — the rogue known as the Devil of Caroc and the monk Zahua — both of whom can travel back into the base game. The party level cap rises from 12 to 14, unlocking new spells, abilities, and talents across all eleven classes. Soulbound weapons, which grow more powerful based on the class that binds to them, add a layer of character-specific progression. Systemic improvements include party AI scripting, enhanced enemy AI with smarter spellcasters, multi-class talent options, and a respec feature accessible at inns and taverns.
