A life simulation game developed by Gainax, Princess Maker 2 Refine places the player in the role of a retired wandering knight who, guided by a divine voice, is entrusted with raising a young girl descended from the stars. Over the course of eight in-game years, the player manages the upbringing of the daughter from age 10 to 18, making ongoing decisions about her education, activities, and daily schedule. Each choice shapes her development and ultimately determines which of multiple adult outcomes she reaches. The 2004 PC release is a remastered edition of the original 1993 game, featuring fully redrawn high-resolution color artwork and a complete Japanese voice cast covering all characters, including the daughter. The combination of resource management and branching narrative gives the simulation considerable replay value, as different parenting approaches lead to substantially different endings.
