Pro Race Driver is a racing simulator developed by Codemasters Southam and released in 2002 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. Part of the TOCA Touring Car series, it marks a significant expansion of that lineage beyond its original touring car focus, incorporating a broad range of closed-wheel motorsport disciplines. The game introduces a narrative career mode built around Ryan McKane, the son of a racer killed in a crash and younger brother of an established star, with players guiding Ryan through a progression of championships. The vehicle roster spans multiple real-world series, including Mercedes DTM silhouette cars, BTCC Peugeots, and Australian V8 Supercars. Circuits are based on real-world tracks, though a number must be unlocked through progression. Gameplay is supported by a realistic physics engine and multiple camera angles, maintaining the simulation-oriented approach associated with the series.
