Set in a distant future where humanity wages war against the Bydo Empire — a bio-mechanical alien force originally engineered as a weapon before escaping human control — the game places players in the cockpit of the R-90 Ragnarok, a next-generation fighter tasked with penetrating Bydo-controlled territory and dismantling the empire's core networks. Building on R-Type Dimensions and R-Type Dimensions EX, this third entry fully reconstructs assets with high-end 3D graphics and new audio, while allowing players to toggle between classic and remastered presentation on the fly. Expanded features include local co-op with revised scoring and survival mechanics, an Infinite Mode that removes permadeath, adjustable 3D camera perspectives, and customizable controls.
