Rayman is a side-scrolling platformer developed by Ubi Soft Paris Studios and released in 1995, available on PlayStation, PlayStation Portable, Sega Saturn, and PlayStation 3. The game follows its titular character, a limbless, big-nosed figure who navigates a series of platform-based levels using an unusual set of abilities. Rayman moves through stages by jumping and briefly hovering via his hair, while combat revolves around launching his detached fists at enemies or charging up for a stronger strike. Scattered throughout the game are special power-ups that temporarily grant unlimited flight, allowing players to maneuver through more complex, maze-like sections of levels. The evil Mr. Dark steals the Great Protoon and defeats Betilla the Fairy. The Electoons are scattered around the world and Rayman must find them and defeat Mr. Dark. The Magician helps out Rayman during the journey by offering special minigames. Tings are collected for extra lives and new powers are earned, such as using Fists and The Helicopter.
