Rune Factory Frontier is a role-playing and farming simulation game developed by Neverland and released for the Wii in 2008. Players manage a farm across four distinct seasons, growing a variety of crops suited to each time of year — strawberries and turnips in spring, tomatoes and pineapples in summer, and yams in autumn, among others. Flowers can also be cultivated, with all produce sold for gold, the game's primary currency. Alongside farming, the game features dungeon crawling as an equally significant component. Four dungeons are available, three of which correspond to specific seasons — one covering both autumn and winter — and allow players to grow season-appropriate crops within them. The fourth dungeon, Whale Island, operates outside seasonal restrictions, permitting all crop types to be grown there regardless of the current time of year.
