SBK 09: Superbike World Championship is a motorcycle racing simulation developed by Black Bean Games and released in 2009 for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, and PC. The game reproduces the official Superbike World Championship license, including its real-world riders, teams, bikes, and circuits. Presentation elements such as pit areas, the paddock, the starting grid, and broadcast-style camera angles are modeled to reflect the atmosphere of the actual championship. A tiered difficulty system offers five riding styles — Basic, Arcade, Advanced, Simulation, and Extreme — alongside a wide array of individual assists, including traction control, braking options, tire wear, and automatic transmission. At the Simulation level, tire degradation, brake wear, bike damage, and rider injury all become active factors, and players must manage detailed bike setup parameters covering suspension geometry, gear ratios, braking configurations, and tire selection to remain competitive.
