Serious Sam's Bogus Detour is a top-down action-adventure shooter developed by Crackshell, the studio behind Hammerwatch, released in 2017 for PC and Linux. Part of the long-running Serious Sam franchise, it shifts the series into a twin-stick perspective as players fight through Mediterranean environments, biological weapons facilities, and moon bases. The campaign supports solo play or online co-op for up to four players, and includes an experience and level-up perk system. Beyond the main campaign, a Survival mode accommodates solo or multiplayer sessions of up to twelve players, while a Versus mode offers deathmatch and additional competitive formats for the same player count. The game also ships with a built-in editor that enables full mod support, including custom modes and total conversions, with a range of community mods already available or in development at launch.
