SimCity DS is a city-building and management simulation developed by EA Japan and AKI Corporation, released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS. The first entry in the SimCity series to appear on the platform, it tasks players with constructing and overseeing a functioning city, balancing infrastructure, zoning, and civic services to keep a population growing and content. The Nintendo DS hardware is integrated into the experience, with the touchscreen serving as the primary interface for placing buildings and navigating the urban landscape, while the second screen provides supplementary information.
