Skylanders: Trap Team is a 2014 action-adventure platformer developed by Toys for Bob, released across PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii, Wii U, Android, and iOS. The game centers on the aftermath of Kaos destroying Cloudcracker Prison — a fortress constructed from the magical material Traptanium — in order to recruit its dangerous inmates into a personal army. The explosion scatters shards of Traptanium to Earth as physical Trap objects, and the player takes on the role of a Portal Master tasked with hunting down the escaped villains and recapturing them using these Traptanium Traps. Captured enemies can then be deployed as playable characters, adding a collectible dimension to the series' established toys-to-life mechanics. Combat blends hack-and-slash and role-playing elements across a range of environments, with the overarching goal of stopping Kaos before he consolidates control over Skylands.
