Sonic CD is a 2011 remaster of the classic Sega platform adventure, developed by Blit Software and released across a wide range of platforms including PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, iOS, and Android, among others. The remaster updates the original experience with widescreen display support and improved controls while preserving the core side-scrolling gameplay. Players can choose between the original Japanese and American soundtracks, giving some flexibility over the audio presentation. Tails is available as an unlockable playable character, adding a secondary option beyond Sonic himself. The game retains the time-travel mechanics and level design of the original release, tasking players with traversing zones across past, present, and future time periods to defeat Eggman and collect the Time Stones.
