Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is an arcade shooter developed by Taito and released in 2009 for iOS, Android, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The game begins with a visual and mechanical presentation closely resembling the 1978 original, then progressively evolves as players advance, unlocking new stages, power-ups, and gameplay features. The full game contains 133 stages spread across Normal Mode and Challenge Mode, the latter of which regenerates its stages with each playthrough for added replayability. A distinctive feature allows the game to generate unique stages based on tracks from the player's own music library. Online competition is supported through Real Time Rankings, which pit players against others worldwide simultaneously.
