Splatoon 3 is a third-person shooter developed by Nintendo EPD Production Group No. 5, released in 2022 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Set in the Splatlands, a sun-scorched desert region, the game centers on Inklings and Octolings based out of Splatsville, a chaotic urban hub surrounded by arid wilderness. The series' signature Turf War mode returns, challenging players to cover as much ground as possible with ink across a range of new stages set in the wasteland environment. Combat has been expanded with fresh movement options designed to help fighters evade attacks and claim more territory, and the arsenal includes a new bow-shaped weapon alongside the franchise's established selection of ink-slinging tools.
