Super Mario Strikers is a 2005 Nintendo GameCube sports title developed by Next Level Games and the first entry in the Mario Strikers series. It adapts soccer into a fast-paced, ruleless format played on a condensed field with five-member teams rather than the standard eleven. Referees and conventional regulations are absent, and the gameplay incorporates Mario franchise power-ups alongside special strikes that count as two goals rather than one. Match duration is adjustable between 2 and 15 minutes, with 5 minutes serving as the default. When regulation time ends with the score tied, the game transitions into Sudden Death, where the first team to score claims victory. The stripped-back structure and power-up mechanics distinguish it considerably from conventional soccer simulations.
