Tales of Xillia 2 is a role-playing game developed by Bandai Namco Studios, released in 2012 for PlayStation 3. Set one year after the events of Tales of Xillia, the story centers on Ludger Will Kresnik, who becomes entangled with a young girl named Elle Mel Marta after a train hijacking leaves both of them injured and in need of emergency medical care. The treatment is provided by a corporation called Clanspia Inc., which uses Ludger's resulting debt as leverage to recruit him. His mission involves wielding his inherited Kresnik abilities to collapse divergent timelines, a task made necessary because the spirit Origin can no longer sustain the overwhelming number of souls spread across multiple worlds. Alongside these obligations, Ludger pursues his own brother, Julius Will Kresnik, who has been implicated in the hijacking that set the story in motion.
