Tetris Plus is a 1995 puzzle game developed by Jaleco, released for arcade, Sega Saturn, and PlayStation. It builds on the classic Tetris formula with four distinct modes. Classic mode delivers the familiar block-clearing gameplay, while Puzzle mode introduces a rescue mechanic in which a professor slowly descends from the top of the screen — players must clear a path through the falling blocks before he reaches the bottom. Versus mode supports head-to-head competitive play against another player. A fourth option, Edit mode, lets players construct and save their own custom stage layouts. The combination of the traditional Tetris experience with the added objective-based Puzzle mode and the level creation tools gives the game a broader range of play styles than a standard Tetris release.
