Based on Tom Clancy's novel and film of the same name, The Sum of All Fears is a tactical shooter developed by Red Storm Entertainment and released in 2002 for PC, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo GameCube. Players command a small counter-terrorism unit drawn from the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team, directing operatives through 11 missions set in locations around the world. Objectives vary across the campaign, encompassing tasks such as neutralizing terrorists, planting surveillance devices, destroying illegal weapons caches, and rescuing hostages. Combat makes use of 15 distinct firearms alongside equipment including flashbang and fragmentation grenades. The game includes multiple difficulty levels and a dedicated training stage. Multiplayer supports both competitive and cooperative play across several game types. Red Storm previously developed the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six series, and this title shares a similar emphasis on squad-based tactical gameplay.
