Developed by Wild Sphere and released in 2018, Timothy vs. the Aliens is an open-world platformer and adventure game available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The player controls a gangster defending Little Fish City — a sprawling, explorable urban environment rendered in black and white — against an invasion of vividly colored aliens. The city is built around platforming traversal rather than straightforward navigation, and players can also move through it by commandeering any of the vehicles scattered throughout. Combat arises frequently through alien ambushes, while puzzle sequences require locating items, assisting other characters, and unlocking blocked or concealed areas. Weapons and equipment can be expanded by purchasing from a character called the Gunrunner. The game combines action, exploration, and puzzle-solving across a large environment filled with hidden secrets and numerous missions.
