Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam is an extreme downhill racing game developed by Toys for Bob, released in 2006 for Wii and PlayStation 2. Rather than the open-ended skateboarding of earlier entries in the Tony Hawk franchise, this installment focuses on racing at high speed down seven distinct real-world locations, including Machu Picchu, San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro, Edinburgh, and Hong Kong, with the goal of reaching the bottom before opponents while avoiding obstacles along the way. On Wii, the controller is held sideways, with side-to-side tilting used for turning and executing aerial flips. Crouching to gain speed and performing tricks are mapped to dedicated buttons, alongside a general-purpose trick input. The Wii version supports local multiplayer for up to four players via split-screen. The combination of racing mechanics and trick-based gameplay places it at the intersection of the racing and sports genres.
