Tourist Trophy is a motorcycle racing simulator developed by Polyphony Digital and released for the PlayStation 2 in 2006. Built on the same engine as Gran Turismo 4, the game applies that series' approach to automotive simulation to two-wheeled vehicles, emphasizing realistic riding physics and a broad selection of licensed motorcycles. It is one of only four PlayStation 2 titles capable of 1080i video output. Regional releases varied in content: the NTSC version added seven extra motorcycles, new riding gear, seven bonus music tracks, enhanced visual effects, and an exclusive Semi-Pro Mode along with detailed bike profiles. The PAL release, which launched in Australia and Europe in June 2006, contributed two further motorcycles and five additional background music tracks from European artists including Infadels, Vitalic, and Hystereo. The game originally launched in China and Japan in early 2006.
