Trapt is a strategy-RPG developed by Tecmo and released for the PlayStation 2 in 2005, later available on PlayStation 3. It belongs to the Kagero: Deception series but is designed to be accessible without familiarity with earlier entries. The story centers on Princess Allura, who is falsely accused of murdering her father and forced to flee the castle. She is possessed by a demon called Fiend, who grants her the ability to set lethal traps in exchange for the souls of her enemies. Gameplay involves moving Allura through rooms while positioning up to nine traps across floors, walls, and ceilings — including bombs, spikes, and falling metal balls — then triggering them as enemies approach. Skilled placement allows multiple traps to strike a single enemy in sequence, creating combos. Complicating this are enemy resistances to specific trap types and rooms where certain placements are restricted.
