Turok is a first-person shooter developed by Propaganda Games and released in February 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a PC port following in April of the same year. Published by Touchstone Games and Disney Interactive Studios, it draws loosely from the Turok comic book series but stands apart from earlier Turok video games in both story and setting. Players control Joseph Turok, a Native American space marine dispatched with a squad to a remote planet to capture General Roland Kane, a former commanding officer turned wanted war criminal. A crash landing complicates the mission, leaving Turok stranded on a world populated by dinosaurs while Kane's private army also operates in the area. Combat involves contending with both the hostile wildlife and enemy soldiers as Turok pursues his former mentor across this dangerous environment.
