Ultimate NES Remix is a platform and arcade compilation developed by indies zero, released in 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Drawing from the best content of the NES Remix and NES Remix 2 titles, it presents a rapid sequence of short, focused challenges pulled from 16 classic 8-bit Nintendo games, including Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Kirby's Adventure, and Kid Icarus, among others. Standard challenges task players with completing specific objectives within tight constraints, while remix stages blend elements from multiple games together — pitting characters like Link against Donkey Kong or Kirby against Boo. Performance is rated with stars, and harder challenges unlock progressively. A dedicated Championship Mode focuses on Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, and Dr. Mario, with scores submitted to regional online leaderboards. The game also includes three challenges drawn from the Nintendo World Championships and Nintendo Campus Challenge.
