Unchained Blades is a dungeon-crawling RPG developed by FuRyu, released in 2011 for PlayStation Portable and Nintendo 3DS. The story centers on Fang, an arrogant dragon emperor who is stripped of his powers by the goddess Clunea and sets out on a revenge-driven quest to reclaim his original form. He is joined by a cast of mythical companions — including a cowardly golem prince, a shy medusa priestess, and a young phoenix clan maiden — all seeking an audience with the goddess. Gameplay involves navigating dungeons from a first-person perspective with a party of up to four characters and engaging in turn-based battles. A central mechanic called the Unchain system allows players to persuade enemy monsters to join their side during combat. Successfully unchained creatures can then block incoming attacks or provide offensive abilities, with each party member capable of holding up to four such followers, creating considerable strategic variety.
