Wii Chess is a strategy board game developed by Spice Games and released for the Wii in 2008 as part of Nintendo's Touch Generations lineup. The game's AI is built on Loop Express, a conversion of the Loop chess engine that placed third at the 2007 World Computer Chess Championship in Amsterdam, making it one of the more capable chess computers available on a home console at the time. Players can choose from ten difficulty levels spanning beginner to expert, accommodating a wide range of skill levels. A replay system lets players record, review, and revisit previous matches, supporting study and improvement over time. Beyond solo play against the AI, the game supports online multiplayer across Europe through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, allowing matches against other players remotely.
