Wii Play is a 2006 Wii compilation developed by Nintendo EAD Software Development Group No.2, bundling nine short-form minigames spanning arcade, shooting, and sports genres. Each game is designed around the Wii Remote's motion and pointing capabilities, making the controls immediately accessible to players with little or no prior gaming experience. The collection includes a range of activities that demonstrate different aspects of the controller's functionality, from target shooting to table tennis and beyond. While each individual game is simple to grasp, the format encourages repeated play. The title supports multiplayer, allowing two players to compete across the various minigames. Originally released as a pack-in companion to the Wii Remote itself in several markets, Wii Play served both as an introduction to Wii's control scheme and as a straightforward party-style game collection in its own right.
