Wipeout Pure, developed by SCE Studio Liverpool and released in 2005 for the PlayStation Portable, is the first entry in the long-running anti-gravity racing series designed for the handheld platform. Set within the fictional FX300 Racing League, the game places players behind the controls of high-speed hovercrafts competing across a series of tight, corner-heavy tracks. Ten anti-gravity vehicles are available, two of which must be unlocked, and each craft carries distinct characteristics across speed, handling, and acceleration. Vehicles are organized into classes that are gradually made accessible as players progress, with higher tiers demanding considerably more precise control due to the increased speeds involved. Additional tournaments also become available through progression. The game supports multiple tournament structures, offering a structured competitive framework typical of the Wipeout series' futuristic racing format.
