Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country

Set 500 years before the main story of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, this standalone role-playing game developed by Monolith Soft for Nintendo Switch depicts the fall of the kingdom of Torna and the circumstances that set one of its central figures on a destructive path. Players control a group of legendary warriors as they contend with the antagonist Malos and his forces. Combat builds on the system found in the base game, with a key refinement allowing players to switch control between both Drivers — the human masters — and their Blades, the artificial lifeforms bonded to them. This flexibility adds tactical depth to encounters and distinguishes the experience from its predecessor. Released in 2018, Torna – The Golden Country functions as both a prequel narrative and an expanded mechanical iteration of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 framework.
