About

Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits is an open-world RPG developed by LEVEL-5 and released for Nintendo 3DS in 2014. Players control either Nathan Adams or Katie Forester as they explore an open world in search of Yo-kai, supernatural creatures scattered throughout the environment. Befriending these beings involves offering preferred foods before combat, and defeating them may prompt them to surrender their Yo-kai Medal, enabling later summoning. Battles field six Yo-kai at a time, with the touchscreen used to rotate combatants, clear status ailments, and charge Soultimate abilities. A new mechanic allows players to identify touchscreen sweetspots on enemies to improve friendship odds, deal bonus damage, or earn extra money and experience. Yo-kai can be evolved through leveling, item fusion, or combining with other Yo-kai, and are organized into eight classes. The roster expands significantly from the original game's roughly 250 Yo-kai to nearly 450, including former boss characters.
