Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer is a home design simulator developed by Nintendo EAD Software Development Group No. 2 and released in 2015 for the Nintendo 3DS. Spinning off from the main Animal Crossing series, the game centers entirely on interior and exterior home design, tasking players with creating customized residences for the franchise's familiar cast of animal villagers. Rather than managing a town or paying off a mortgage, the focus here is purely aesthetic — arranging furniture, selecting décor, and shaping the look of each home to suit individual villager personalities. The game supports amiibo cards, which allow specific villagers to be summoned into the experience, expanding the roster of clients available for design work. It is a largely freeform, low-pressure title built around creative expression within the established Animal Crossing visual style.
