Blue Dragon is a turn-based role-playing game developed by Artoon and released for Xbox 360 in 2006. Directed under the supervision of Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series, the game features character designs by Akira Toriyama and a soundtrack composed by Nobuo Uematsu. The story follows five young companions — Shu, Jiro, Kluke, Zola, and Marumaro — who wield the ability to summon and command shadow creatures that replicate their masters' actions. Their journey takes them across a wide world in pursuit of Nene, the tyrannical ruler of the Grand Kingdom. Gameplay draws heavily from classic Japanese RPG conventions, dividing the world into towns where players rest and buy supplies, and dungeon-like regions populated by enemies. Combat is handled through a traditional turn-based system. The game's setting later inspired separate anime and manga adaptations.
