Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2 is a rhythm game developed by Hudson Soft, released in 2007 exclusively for the Xbox 360. Players step to arrow prompts in time with music drawn from across the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, alongside tracks from contemporary artists. Standard modes such as split-screen multiplayer and Workout return, joined by two additions: Freestyle, an exhibition-style mode with no directional arrows designed to accommodate players of any skill level, and Quest Mode, a story-driven experience in which players build and customize a character's clothing and appearance across a series of challenges, with additional costumes unlockable through progression. Xbox Live support enables online head-to-head dance competitions and access to downloadable songs. The game also includes editing tools that allow players to create custom choreography and overlay their routines onto personalized background videos.
