EA Sports Active is a fitness game developed by EA Canada for the Wii, released in 2009. Using the Wii Remote alongside a specially designed leg strap, the game tracks both upper and lower body movements to provide real-time feedback during exercise sessions. The central feature is the 30 Day Challenge, a structured program in which a virtual trainer generates a new workout each day, gradually increasing intensity while offering instruction and encouragement throughout. Activities target upper body, lower body, and cardiovascular fitness across more than 20 distinct exercises. A custom workout mode allows players to adjust session length, select which muscle groups to focus on, and choose preferred exercises, with calorie counts displayed in real time. The combination of a guided long-term program and flexible individual sessions positions the game as a home fitness tool designed to replicate aspects of personal training.
