Released in 2009 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii, LEGO Rock Band is a music rhythm game developed by Harmonix Music Systems that merges the Rock Band gameplay framework with the LEGO toy brand. Players form a band and recruit members, customizing each character by mixing and matching heads, torsos, legs, and bodies in classic LEGO fashion. The core campaign follows the band on a worldwide tour across various venues, similar in structure to earlier Rock Band titles. The game also introduces unconventional challenge stages in which players must accomplish absurd feats — such as battling a giant octopus or bringing down a building through the sheer power of a rock performance. Completing songs earns Studs, the in-game currency, which can be spent on decorations for a personal Rock Den, new staff members, instruments, and additional clothing and accessories.
