Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is an adventure game developed by Toys for Bob and released in 2008 for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PC. Based on the DreamWorks animated film of the same name, the game retains the cast of characters and core mechanics established in the tie-in to the first film, transporting the action to an African setting that reflects the movie's storyline. Gameplay follows a structure comparable to its predecessor, with players navigating environments using familiar moves and abilities. The game also features side-scrolling levels with a Lemmings-inspired design, in which the penguins from the franchise serve as the central characters in those segments. A planned PSP version was ultimately cancelled before release.
