Mega Man Battle Network 4: Blue Moon is an action RPG developed by Capcom Production Studio 2 for the Game Boy Advance, released in 2003 as one of two paired versions alongside Red Sun. The fourth entry in the Battle Network series follows Lan and his digital partner MegaMan.EXE as they combat viruses and other threats across a networked cyberworld. This installment departs from its predecessors by centering gameplay around a tournament structure, pitting players against a succession of distinct opponents. A newly introduced Soul Unison mechanic allows MegaMan.EXE to absorb the abilities of defeated enemies and transform accordingly, adding a layer of strategic flexibility to the real-time grid-based battles. Blue Moon is distinguished from Red Sun by its own set of enemies, battle chips, soul transformations, and supporting characters, giving the two versions meaningfully different experiences despite sharing the same core framework.
