MotorStorm is an off-road racing game developed by Evolution Studios, released in 2006 for the PlayStation 3. Set at a brutal off-road competition, it offers seven vehicle classes ranging from dirt bikes to heavy big rigs, each handling the rugged terrain differently. A central feature is real-time terrain deformation: the ground is physically torn up by passing vehicles, meaning track conditions shift from lap to lap and mud and debris accumulate visibly on each racer. Collisions are a significant part of play, with vehicle damage and cinematic crash sequences built into the experience. The AI is designed to mimic human behavior, including aggressive and taunting tendencies.
