NASCAR 08 is a racing and sports title developed by EA Tiburon (released under the EA Orlando label) and published in 2007 for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The eleventh entry in EA Sports' long-running NASCAR series, it was the earliest release date the franchise had seen at that point. Tony Stewart appears on the cover for North American releases, while PAL editions feature Juan Pablo Montoya. The game includes both NASCAR's then-current car and the newly introduced Car of Tomorrow, though the latter is represented as a generic model without distinct manufacturers. ESPN's NASCAR broadcast coverage is integrated throughout, and crew chief dialogue for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions was recorded by real-life crew chief Chad Knaus. The Whelen Modified Tour, present in the PlayStation 2 version, was omitted from the two newer-platform releases. This installment also marked the first exclusion of the original Xbox from the series since NASCAR 2001.
