About

Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is a hack-and-slash action-adventure game developed by Team NINJA for the Nintendo DS, released in 2008. Set six months after the events of Ninja Gaiden, it follows Ryu Hayabusa as he pursues the Black Spider Ninja Clan after they kidnap Momiji, a fellow villager and kunoichi. His pursuit gradually draws him into a deeper mystery involving the Dark Dragonstones and their connection to the Dragon Lineage. The game uses a pseudo-3D presentation in which character models are fully three-dimensional while the environments are pre-rendered. Players hold the DS sideways, with one screen displaying the active gameplay area and the other showing a map of the surrounding region. The layout adapts for both right- and left-handed players. Controls are handled through the DS touchscreen, making stylus input central to combat and navigation.
