Perfect Dark Zero is a first-person tactical shooter developed by Rare and released in 2005 as a launch title for the Xbox 360. A prequel to the studio's Nintendo 64 game Perfect Dark, it is set in 2020, three years before the events of the original, and follows Joanna Dark through a sci-fi storyline involving multiple distinct mission scenarios. Players have access to a large arsenal of weapons and can make use of combat-enabled vehicles across a fully interactive environment. The game supports significant replayability through its varied scenario structure and high-resolution presentation with notable visual effects. Multiplayer returns as a franchise staple, now expanded with full online support via Xbox Live for up to 50 players simultaneously.
