Picross DS is a nonogram puzzle game developed by Jupiter Corporation and released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS. Each puzzle presents a grid accompanied by numerical clues along the rows and columns, indicating how many consecutive squares must be filled in each line. Players use logical deduction to determine which squares to shade, gradually uncovering a hidden illustration. Grids range from compact 5×5 arrangements to demanding 15×15 layouts and beyond, providing a wide difficulty curve. Incorrect placements incur a time penalty, and completing a puzzle within one hour unlocks an animated illustration depicting whatever subject the grid represented. The game also includes a puzzle creation tool, allowing players to design their own nonograms and share them with others, extending the content beyond the built-in puzzle library.
